The Human Relations Commission was established in 1990. The purpose of the Commission is to study, evaluate, and recommend to the Board of Supervisors plans and programs to eliminate prejudice and discrimination as well as to promote and safeguard the equal rights of and respect for all people within Kern County in the areas of employment, education, and social and economic justice, and to serve as the Kern County Equal Opportunity Program Advisory body.
