John Antonaros has served as District 2’s Chief of Staff since 2014. A third generation native of Kern County, John was the valedictorian of his graduating class at Bakersfield High School. John attended the University of California, Berkeley (as well as a year abroad at La Universidad de Granada, Spain) where he earned his bachelor’s degree in Integrative Biology and Spanish Literature.

Prior to joining District 2, John worked in California, Arizona and the Dominican Republic as a manager in the private-sector. Fluent in Spanish, John also taught English at El Centro Cultural Dominico Americano in Santiago, Dominican Republic. John is actively engaged in the Kern County community and is a member of the Rotary Club of Bakersfield West.
